In this paper we examine the likelihood of multiple real steady states in deterministic exchange economies with overlapping generations. There is a single good and a single agent per generation with constant relative risk aversion expected utility. In order to test for multiple equilibria we employ methods from computational algebraic geometry. In our examples, we find that multiplicity becomes less likely as the life span of agents increases but becomes more likely as the coefficient of risk aversion increases. For moderate values of risk aversion, multiplicity is very unlikely when agents live for five or more periods. (JEL: C61, C63, D50, D58)
Der International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) hat Anfang Juli 2009 den International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (kurz: IFRS-SME) veröffentlicht. Gegenstand ist die Finanzberichterstattung nicht öffentlich rechenschaftspflichtiger Unternehmen mit externen Stakeholdern. Im Vergleich zu den full IFRS wurden Themen, die für KMU irrelevant sind, gestrichen, zahlreiche Ansatz- und Bewertungsregeln vereinfacht sowie die Offenlegung eingeschränkt. Im Folgenden werden die zentralen Aspekte des neuen Standards analysiert und sein Nutzen aus Sicht der verschiedenen Anspruchsgruppen beleuchtet.
Die Einführung von möglichst umfassenden Performance-Management-Systemen soll die Implementation von Strategien in Unternehmen verbessern, um deren Performance nachhaltig zu erhöhen. In der präsentierten Studie wurde der Entwicklungsstand solcher Systeme in der Schweizer Unternehmenspraxis untersucht. Bestehende Systeme wurden bezüglich ihrer Ausgestaltung und Verwendung analysiert sowie Schwachstellen und Verbesserungspotentiale aufgezeigt.
Firm-hosted virtual peer-to-peer problem solving (P3) communities offer a low-cost, credible, and effective means of delivering education and ongoing assistance services to customers of complex, frequently evolving products. Building upon the social constructivist view on learning and drawing from literature on the firm-customer relationship in services marketing, we distinguish between functional and social benefits received by P3 community participants and study the central role of learning in influencing these benefit perceptions. The proposed model is tested on data gathered from 2,299 active members of a P3 community hosted by a global online auction firm, and the framework’s generalizability is demonstrated using a sample of 204
members of a global B2B software firm’s P3 community. Based on the results, specific recommendations are provided to marketers interested in implementing service support programs via customer communities, and future research opportunities are explored.
